The purpose of the BCFR Reserve Program is to carry out the mission of the Brevard County Fire Rescue Department by augmenting the services provided by the agency to the citizens and visitors of Brevard County. This is done through providing extra personnel, that are certified and qualified but non-paid members of the department; on apparatus, in the office, at special events, and through any other means as directed by the Fire Chief or his/her designee.
The program is managed by a full-time employee of BCFR that has many responsibilities to the department to include but not limited to coordinating volunteer services for the department. Under the supervision of this individual the program has an internal management structure to facilitate a properly functioning and well oiled machine that is active and ready when needs arise.
